Well, time to start the fun shall we?
First off, I'm a drummer and I intend this blog to be some sort of practice diary. Telling the world about ways I practice and share thoughts and experiences. Sharing all that is just some sort of experiment to me, but I think it can potentially be a lot of fun. It's not like many will give a damn about this topic, but this is more for myself anyway.
I'm currently stuck with playing on a shitty Basix 5 piece with a a mix of Sabian, Stagg and Paiste Cymbals. It's still enough for practicing, haha.
Today I focused on getting foot technique going. I feel like I struggle a lot at double bass at tempi like 140-180 bpm. I fatigue quickly and I'm easily thrown of balance. I started at 130 bpm 16th notes and kept increasing the speed 5bpm in 5 minute intervals. I at least made it to 150. haha. Hopefully the results are still there tomorrow.
Keep it up man, I wish i had inof motivation to play a instrument.
ReplyDeletecongrats d00d!
ReplyDeleteWIsh I knew how to play the drums... Is it OK if I live vicariously through you? :D
ReplyDeleteWhy is my blogspot in German, damn this is confusing the shit out of me!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah you got any suggestions for electronic drums? I want something accurate that can talk to my computer via MIDI - just to play around with.
Hope you get good at drumming bro, and for SC2, just gotta keep playing/practicin you'll eventually get to diamond!
ReplyDeleteWhat language is your blog in?

ReplyDeleteWell, it depends what you want to do. Most E-drum modules have a midi output. I use a Roland TD4 kit, which comes with a lot of great samples out of the box. It's 1000€ though, haha.
Most e-drum sets I know of have a midi output, so don't worry about that. something like the MILLENIUM MPS-100 will do. Costs about 300€ where I live. You still need the right cables and software though. (dunno about pricing though)
@A Life Well Spent Online
Go ahead, you will face many hardships vicariously aswell, haha
Cool man. Myself I'm not into instruments, but my cousin is a drummer so I know a bit by proxy. He spends ridiculous amounts of cash on his kit as well.. couldn't even afford it if I wanted to. Keep up the good work
ReplyDeleteSounds really awesome, looking forward to more drumming posts
ReplyDeleteI wish I could learn how to drum. More Rock Band maybe...
ReplyDeleteI'm a drummer too, my blog features some amazing jazz drumming - my favourite kind
ReplyDeleteMy friend made me learn how to do one drum thing with about 4 different hits repeated so I could sit there and drum it while he practised his guitar. Was kinda fun, probably would be better if I could actually play more then that though.
ReplyDeletegreat post!
